THE BODY TELLS

LET YOUR BODY SPEAK So many singers do not pay attention to body signals,it could be due to the demands of the group they belong to or they just do not understand it. Each time your voice is about to snap, they is a warning signal and some times something triggers it. Learn to understand and recognise these signals. Some food/beverages you ingest trigger vocal fatigue while some climates don't just go well with you. Be sensitive to these signals and walk in their stride. Sometimes all you need is a little break from a routine or otherwise...just let your body tell you. *EXERCISE* DRINK ICED WATER,WARM WATER,JUICE, SOFT DRINK OR MILK, TAKE A ONE HOUR BREAK AND SING.IF YOU NOTICE DIFFICULTY AFTER TAKING ANY OF THESE, THEN YOU KNOW WHERE YOUR ENEMY LARKS. DO SAME WITH AC/ FAN,BATHING COLD/HOT WATER...ETC.

THE SINK...THE SONG

I came home one day to meet a full sink. We had water supply issues for almost a week so I was the only one able to manage the little water we had before it was restored. I carefully separated soup dishes from flats, pots from bowls, cutlery from tumblers suddenly the sink wasn't that full anymore. A "complex" song is like a full sink with so many different phrases, notes and vocal twists. But with proper #Marking (This is a way of singing that helps you save voice by audibly voicing to a section of a song and mentally singing the rest and  by partitioning the song from tasking to simple areas) Separate the tricky parts (tackle them first) from the easy parts. When you do this, you find out there is no such thing as a #Hardsong But most paramount in this process is to teach your mind that "THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A HARD SONG" It could be complex but not hard.

BUBBLE GUM...a good vocal coach!

TAKE NOTE! Chewing gum in an official setting is absolutely discautious and classless! But chewing in a private setting, during sporting activities or any activity that leads to mental or physical exhaustion is just OK because it serves as a stimulant. I personally recommend chewing gum because... THE GOOD PART 1) It involves jaw movement and eventual flexibility of both the inner and outer mouth space region. 2) The tongue (a very trick organ) is made to work out in a very friendly mode as you roll the gum in your mouth. Once your tongue is flexible, the production of words will be an easy task. 3) The soft palate feels the stretch and contract motion as you chew... training it to work in synergy with the tongue. This will aid in tone/ pitch production. 4) Your throat will be well lubricated due to the release of moisture(saliva) into the mouth (then you get to swallow) caused by the sugar in the gum. 5) Sometimes it just makes you look cool😎! THE BAD PART 1) Too much che...

WIGGLE DA TONGUE

The exercise I'm demonstrating is very weird, funny and eventually silly. But what it does for you is it sets your soft palate free and allows the bottom of the tongue not to stiffen but remains flaccid. This is how to produce a stress free and balanced tone as well as reach the heights. *NOTE* The tongue is not nothing out of the mouth space its rather making the inner space its comfortable home. Try it like, share and drop a comment.

...DESTROY YOUR VOICE

HOW TO DESTROY YOUR VOICE 1) Choose a song that you are not familiar with. 2) Make sure the song has complex vocal movements that you are not familiar with. 3) Be sure that the singer's range is not yours (and you have never tried to extend your range in that direction) 4) Don't rehearse. 5) Don't warm up. 6) Feel confident that all things are possible to him who believes(like #usainbolt going for #serenawilliams🎾 #tournaments 🙄) 7) Take iced beverages while you wait to perform the song. Then thank me later!😂😂😂

STRANGE EXERCISE

Image
STRANGE EXERCISE Through out the ages, singers have wondered how and why this exercise is so effective and easily accessible but difficult to accomplish. It will take a lot of will power and focus to make it have its full course in your body. It demands a shut down of your system, physically and psychologically. And a times it may mean your hurting others and/or a rigid schedule but its worth the risk. Your voice will benefit from it as will other parts of your body as a machine. I recommend this exercise to singers all over the world. Its simple and could be short or long. The Most beneficial and strange exercise called REST!

THE TONGUE THING

Image
Each time your tongue is way up high or suppressed too low, there is an adverse effect on the vocal production. Remember the tongue is a complex network of muscles/ nerves attached to the jaw and neck (via the thyroid bone from which the larynx is suspends). This means anytime you misplace the tongue, the larynx is displaced and it eventually causes a stiffening that, endangers proper sound production and causes all round vocal fatigue; also when the tongue is wrongly placed, more forced breath is employed to phonate and the easy "yawn-like" stance that is commonly required is absent. keeping the tongue "relaxedly forward" helps maintain an open epiglottis and pharynx so you don't force sound out. Forcing the tongue backward into the mouth stifles sound and pushes against the epiglottis. My advice? Allow the vowel sounds direct the tongue and not the other way around. A very effective exercise for tongue control is ...
