YOU NEED TO KNOW
1. The next song you sing is not just another song... It's always the song. Explanation, :never take your preparation, warm up and sound check, unseriously(even if you have to sing before a friend for critic purposes)
2. Warm ups are like your quiet tme, VERY NECESSARY. you communicate with your voice and song for the sake of intimacy. You know every curve bend and how to technically approach them.
3. Watch your previous performances in order to note errors, try to improve and /to eliminate a repetition.
4. Respect your ears they are elders to your voice. If you don't hear correctly you will not sing correctly. Listen and listen.In a setting with backup singers listen to them just as you listen to the key board, sometimes they are good sound/key directors.
5. Be confident but don't over do it. Letting people know you got game shows you ain't got game.
6. Do not be above correction, humble yourself and learn. Get a vocal coach to see you through this voice maze. A vocal coach may not be the best singer but can make you the best singer ever.
7. If you can, ladies, don't put on a dresses that will hold your mid section. You need abdominal flexibility for breathing and belting.
