DYNAMICS 2

On the flip side of pianissimo, we have the dynamic which is most common among young upcoming acts, fortissimo. It should never be confused with a higher register and unlike popular opinion and believe ive, it should not be performed with hyper abdominal impulse. Fortissimo is loud singing or a rise in volume, which is artistically produced by a free and we'll expanded inner mouth space. The throat should be relaxed and the sound allowed to resonate in the basal/head area. . Voices that are not naturally voluminous should focus first on the open VOWELS Ah & OH, making them sound large yet controlled before extending to the other vowels. Erroneously,  some shout in the place of singing with fortissimo, but there is a great world of difference. Shouting is an exaggerated and modified level of speech action while the fortissimo dynamic is singing with a louder and more resonated tone. DYNAMICS Every singer must be well furnished with the art of improvisation in order to make singing not just an activity but also an experience. Now, to take improvisation and give it colour, character and modification, singing dynamics MUST be employed. So the next question would be “what is Singing dynamics?” Dynamics in singing is used to describe how loud or soft sounds are produced. The dynamics employed in a song has the capacity to build or break the song. If you observe the stars of today, you will discover that they have a very good, if not excellent sense of dynamics; to be regarded as a good singer, your dynamics must be used controlled and at calculated points. Furthermore they are used to give color to a performance. And note this, Dynamics are suitable for every vocal style! IMPROVISATION To be a creatively artistic singer you must learn the art of improvisation. The art form makes the performer more intelligent and innovative as it is never pre-planned or premeditated. Improvisation is a spontaneous yet calculated addition or twist in a performance. You can improvise on expression, lyrics or melody. It is your ability to improvise that separates you from the common kitchen singer or audience. It also give a performance a certain level of #humanness and eliminates any robotic feel. Improvisation follows the flow of meaning of a song, the psychological rhythm of an audience or the emotional state of the performer as it relates to the song performed.
